Review: Vaseline Spray & Go Moisturizer

I was perusing the isles in Target last week when I stumbled upon this new product on one of the end caps - Vaseline's new Spray & Go moisturizers. I was instantly curious.  You see,  one of the things I hate the most about moisturizing after my morning shower is trying to put pants on afterwards. I don't like having to wait for it to dry. It takes too long!  And one of the claims on the bottle is that "it moisturizes in seconds so you can put your clothes right on." That was it. I had to have it.

So what's the deal with this new product? It's basically the same design and concept as spray-on sunscreen, except this is moisturizer. The spray mist is supposed to keep the moisturizer light and non-greasy, meaning it absorbs and dries much faster.

Here's the skinny:

  • At $5.99 for 6.5 oz. it's relatively inexpensive but I have to wonder if the spray-on quality (like with sunscreens) means you're going to go through it much faster. I'm still only a week in, so it's hard to tell.
  • It comes in three scents (at least that's what I saw at Target): Aloe, Oat, and Cocoa
  • Easy to use: just spray it on and rub it in. Done.
  • Does in fact dry quickly and makes it much less uncomfortable to get dressed immediately after application
  • The cocoa butter one smells awesome but it's not light. You will notice you smell like cocoa butter (which I personally like) and so will others. The only draw back is it's strong enough it can interfere with your perfume if you choose to wear it (which I always do)
  • Provides light moisture, so if you suffer from chronic dry skin, this might not be moisturizing enough. I love that it's light, I save my thicker lotions for the evening. Here in Florida (and surely elsewhere), the heat causes you to sweat out your lotion and makes your arms and legs quite gooey and slippery. All in all a great spring/summer product. Think of it as watered-down lotion - thicker than Evian mist, thinner than your regular lotion.
  • Does indeed spray as a fine mist, just make sure you shake it well first, otherwise it doesn't spray as evenly.
All in all, I'm glad I picked this up. I'm actually being much more regimented about moisturizing the rest of my body now that I don't have to wait as long to get dressed. Truth, I'd often slack at it because I wouldn't have the time to wait for lotion to dry. My skin is surely grateful for my new found product.

What do you think of this evolution of skin care? Are you curious to try it out as temperatures start rising? Or is it too much of a gimmick for your taste?

  1. I have tried all three of the new Spray & Go scented lotions from Vaseline®. I have to say that I am very pleased and impressed with this product!

Lovely fresh scent, super easy to apply, and feels GREAT! My favorite would have to be the oatmeal extract (yellow can), but they all are amazing!

Been using these lotions for about two weeks now, and am still just as happy as the first time I tried it! Haven't even had to use my other lotions!

Totally worth the $6.99 at Target! Even my boyfriend (who suffers from mild psoriasis) has tried it and loves it too!!!

    1. I clipped the same coupon. I actually went through various papers and clipped three of them! I'll be hitting up Target later too because I'm almost at the very end of my bottle. I hope you like it!
