Spring Shoe Planning
It's February and it's official: the countdown to spring starts now. Winter has overstayed its welcome. To be fair, down here in Florida, winter barely showed its face. But I woke up this morning to a chill in the air and immediately started lamenting not being able to slip on sandals and show off my pedicure.
So, if I'm ready for spring, I can only image the rest of you who have actually experienced winter weather are probably ready for a little relief. Since I can't pretend like spring's already here, I'll do the next best thing. Start thinking about (and cruising for) items to add to my spring closet. I'm not quite ready to face the wrath of bathing suit shopping, but I'm certainly ready to entertain some new shoes.
Here are a few, I'm currently considering:
Steve Madden Jesper (top left): I can't afford to slip my toes into a pair of Valentino Rock Stud shoes in any of it's wonderful incarnations. While it might seem like an incredible injustice, I refuse to let that stop me from borrowing from their idea and finding ways to add a little edge to my look. That's why I'm eyeing the Jesper by Steve Madden. It's definitely a shoe I could get a lot of use out of down here in the hot and muggy Florida sun nearly all year long. I'm leaning toward the black pair.
Unisa Ligia Sandal (top right): Last year, I saw a pair of sandals on pinterest (check them out here) and have been looking for something similar ever since. The Unisa Ligia has a similar feel. I love these in the nude patent leather, they'll go with anything and are just so adorably girly.
Merona Marguerite Wedge (bottom left): I instagramed a photo of these last week and I haven't been able to stop thinking about them (they didn't have my size). As soon as I saw them I immediately thought of a pair of shoes I wanted to get last year from J. Crew, except this pair from Target cost $100 less! At only $30, I'm hoping to get my hand on the turquoise pair; such a great spring color wouldn't you agree? Plus, the espadrille wedge will be great to give the illusion of longer legs when I break out shorts and skirts again. P.S. - totally digging the polka dot interior lining.
DV by Dolce Vita Tremor (bottom right): Speaking of shoes that make your legs look great, I'm totally ready for sandal wedges. I'm loving this delicate pair from Dolce Vita. The gold and nude combo makes me think of fancy yacht parties and vacations. They just look like something you'd see someone wear with a flowy maxi or sundress somewhere near the beach.
How are you counting down for the warmer weather ahead?
