Video: My Perfume Collection

Perfume was my first beauty love. For as long as I can remember, my mother always told me, "Girls are supposed to smell good." I guess it was her way of imparting good hygiene (she'd say it when we didn't want to take a shower and when we started going through puberty and needed to use deodorant). But it was also her number one beauty rule and it was a rule to live by. Before my sister and I were exposed to the world of makeup, nail polish, high heels, and hair styles, we already had a deep love affair with scent.

For me, it all started with Nenuco - a popular baby cologne (really it's a body splash) that's gentle fresh scent is essentially synonymous with infancy in Puerto Rico, where I grew up.  It's such a wonderful scent, I know adults who still wear it (myself included).

Now that you know that I've been rocking some form of perfume since I was in diapers, you might not be so surprised to find that I have quite the large collection of scents in my home. I love to smell good. But more importantly, it's been deeply ingrained in every fiber of my being that I'm supposed to smell good.

With that in mind, I'd like to share my perfume collection with you (the abbreviated version after I cleared out the ones I no longer used and donated them to friends and family). Hopefully, sharing these might bring some new, delicious smells into your life. I'm also hoping it will open up a little exchange between us, where you'll share some of your favorites with me so I can continue to discover new scents that I love.

    1. I have quite a few samples of Jimmy Choo Flash, and it smells amazing! Flowerbomb is expensive, that's why I bought the roller ball gift set over the holidays. It was much more affordable. I've seen the gift set at Nordstrom for the past two years. Maybe you can pick it up this year so you can have Flowerbomb without the astronomical price ;)

  2. I'm with you - I'm a bit of a perfume "collector," if you will! I definitely switch up my scent depending on the day/my mood/the weather/the season...haha! I also have Flowerbomb...definitely a girly classic for me. I bought Chanel Mademoiselle for my wedding, so it's my go-to for special occasions. :)

My next potential purchase - Tom Ford's Neroli Portofino. I got a few samples of it somewhere along the way and I've been loving it...I'm going to be extremely sad when I run out of the samples and have to splurge on a full size or ask for it as a gift, haha!

Ooohhh, Mademoiselle smells really good! I don't think I've checked out Neroli Portofino, but I kind of felt that way about Tom Ford Violet Blonde. I was quite sad when I ran out of samples. As you can see, I'd have a hard time justifying another expensive perfume. Hahaha! I may need to go see if they have any Neroli Portofino samples next time I'm at the mall.

  4. Lol, I'm a notorious sample hoarder, and I wouldn't put it past me to get another one of the Neroli when I'm in Nordstrom next. I have a big glass bowl on my dresser that is filled with the little vials...love having them to throw in my bag or for when I travel and don't want to take a big bottle with me! It always pains me to spend over $100 on a perfume...I've done it before, but usually I keep my eyes peeled for good ones at TJ Maxx and Marshalls. I have found some realllly good ones along the way - but you just have to luck out and spot them, as I'm sure you know!

It sounds like you and I have a similar approach to perfume hoarding (and sample hoarding). I love a good find at TJ Maxx!
