OK. Remember how I said that I hoped that the sample of Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer that I got as part of my online Sephora purchase would live up to my expectations? Well, it has surpassed them. Kandee Johnson is not exaggerating. She has several how to videos on YouTube (www.youtube.com/kandeejohnson) in which she uses some of her Laura Mercier products to create different looks, and she always says that she really likes this brand. She also acknowledges that the brand is pricey, and doesn't try to push the products on anyone, but nonetheless always mentioned that she really likes them. So, when I was completing my online purchase at Sephora, where I was given the option to select up to three free samples, and I jumped all over the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer (with SPF 20). It's been in my makeup drawer for a few weeks, and I finally decided to give it a go.
Wow!
First, it's nice and creamy, like a luxe lotion, it provides fabulous coverage (just as good as foundation), and it's long wearing. It also made my skin look awesome (even, glowy, and, well, awesome). The lotion almost has a mousse-like feel to it, that's how fluffy and creamy it is. It also felt super light on my skin. The sample had enough product in it for at least three uses. But, I'm still not very good with this whole concept of opening a sample packet correctly (anyone have suggestions?) so that I don't accidentally squeeze too much product out, or open it too much, making the product dry out. Apparently, this whole concept eludes me. But I digress. The point, I over squeezed the packet, and wasted precious product! This wouldn't have been so heart breaking if the product weren't so absolutely wonderful. I wanted to wear it again today to go to work! Aside from the product's excellent coverage, wear, and feel, I really like that it has SPF 20 in it. I think it's a good amount to have, especially in sunny climates like mine. I try to wear at least SPF 15, but on my face I like to have even more protection.
So, if you are in the market for a tinted moisturizer, and don't mind the $42 price tag, then give Laura Mercier a try. I promise you won't regret it. Plus, if my tiny little sample packet could easily have lasted three days, I'm sure the full-sized version (1.5 fl. oz/40 mL) won't skimp out on you quickly. For example, I love my e.l.f. moisture tint, and the $1 price tag, but I don't really get a lot of it and can go through it pretty quickly (to combat this, I mix it with my moisturizer). I don't think that is the case with this product.
When I'm done with my e.l.f. moisture tint (I have two left), I'm seriously considering taking the Laura Mercier plunge. Or, I may just get it, and keep my e.l.f one for travel as it is a perfect travel size.
You can get this product at your local Sephora, http://www.lauramercier.com/, or Neiman Marcus.
